• In the text area, enter “Services.MSC.”
• Enter the key “Enter.”
• The “Services” pane displays a list of available services.
• Locate “QBPOS Database Manager Server” and select it.
• Then, click the “Restart” option.
• If you don’t see the “Restart” button, click the “Start” button.
• After that, you can restart your device and run Point of Sale software after restarting the QBPOS Database Manager. 

For Windows Vista/ Windows 7 

• Click “OK” when a message indicating an error displays on your screen.
• Secondly, you must restart your computer.
• Thirdly, re-start the “Point of Sale” application then  select the “Start” option.
• Select “All Programs then click “Accessories.”
• Now, select the “Run” button.
• Fill out the text box with “Services.MSC” then press enter.
• The “Services” pane displays a list of available services.
• Locate and choose QBPOS Database Manager and select “Restart”.  
• Additionally, try restarting your POS software.
• Later, if the issue still exists, go to the UAC settings.

Method 4: Launch QBPOS Shell Again

Re-launching QuickBooks POS Shell can also resolve the QuickBooks error 100 issue. You can try this method by following the steps – 

Processor-> Task Manager-> Image Name-> Right-click the QBPOSShell.exe file and select End Process/Close Task Manager.

The following will prevent the POS software from operating in the background and now, relaunch the Point of Sale software. Now, proceed to the following steps, in the event of several QBPOS Shell services:

• On the computer, right-click the Point of Sale icon.
• Choose the option Troubleshoot compatibility.
• Then, choose Try suggested settings, following the directions on the page.

Now, you can restart the device then reinstall the application.

Method 5: Attempt to be a New Windows User as Well

Making an effort to be a “New Windows User” will more likely resolve the QuickBooks Error Code 100. Here, are the few easy steps you need to follow-

• Head over to the “Start” button, then enter “User Accounts” in the search area and press the “Enter” key.
• Select “Manage User Accounts” from the visited page. Now,  select “Manage Another Account.”
